Beat the rental market with a transportable cabin
Cabin hire from Unit2rent
It’s not only the housing market that’s been booming lately – rental prices have also been steadily rising. Between December 2019 and December 2020, the national median weekly rent cost rose by 4%, according to the TradeMe price index. And with national demand outstripping supply by 2% in 2020, as well as new healthy homes requirements increasing landlords’ costs, it’s no wonder that prices have remained high in 2021.
If you’re struggling to find a suitable rental property due to cost, location, or because you have pets, and you have family or friends with space on their section, then renting a transportable cabin might be the solution you’re looking for.
If the term “portable cabin” conjures up images of building site offices or bland wooden boxes, then you might be surprised to discover that our units are bright, contemporary, cosy and modern. Check out our gallery for some inspiration! Every unit is built to code, fully insulated, painted, carpeted, and ready to connect to power and water. They’re warm, dry, and easy to heat.
We can deliver our transportable cabins throughout the North Island. Any section with clear access of 4 metres wide and 4.5 metres high can accept delivery of a transportable cabin. You may need to level the site first if it is sloping, and it’s important to check with your local council to see if permits are required.
Self-contained units start at just $245 per week for an open-plan studio, and they come in a range of sizes right up to a deluxe two-bedroom cabin from $395 per week (Auckland only). Compared to the average weekly rent in Auckland of around $600 per week1, a transportable cabin represents a significant saving. Plus, when you’ve finished using it, it’s easily removed again.
