How do I rent a transportable cabin from Unit2Rent?
ou can apply to rent a transportable cabin by simply clicking “APPLY NOW” or “WINZ QUOTE” from the top right on our website.
Having the land to put a transportable cabin is an important part of the process. The land could be your land, family land, Maori land or rented land. You will need approval from the landowner(s) to be able to put a transportable cabin on it.
When you are ready to apply, you can start below:
- Ensure you have the necessary documents ready
A. Photo ID

- Passport; or
- Driver's Licence; or
- Kiwi Access/18+ card
B. Written consent from the legal landowner to place the unit on the property

- The consent can be as simple as a handwritten letter saying, “ I give permission for Sample Name to put a cabin on the land I own at 1 Sample Road, Sampletown.” Get the consent signed by the landowner and get them to include their phone number. You need to let the landowner know that you will use the land for a minimum of 12 months.
2. Do an application online application by clicking “APPLY NOW” or “WINZ QUOTE”
A. If you are applying for a WINZ quote, you will need
- WINZ Customer #
- Type of benefit
- Take-home pay per week
3. Fill the form in with all information required
If everything, required, is included it will make the process faster
4. Read the terms and conditions on the last page of the online application
5. Upload a photo ID, proof of address, and consent form. A photo or scan of these documents is okay.
6. Include photos of where the transportable cabin is to be sited
- Photos of the property driveway that the truck will need to use to access the transportable cabin drop-off location
- Photos of the transportable cabin site

By completing an Application Form we will review the information you have provided including the site where you would like to put the unit. Please note an application is not approved until we have completed all our credit checks and site checks, and checked the availability of the unit stock.
All Application Forms must be submitted with photo ID, proof of your current address and written consent from the legal landowner to place the unit on the property. These further documents can either be uploaded with this Application Form when you submit it (last page of the form), or emailed through to us as at: admin@unit2rent.co.nz.
